SUMMARY:Nog een 'Day of Bodyfulness' in Brussel!
DESCRIPTION:A journey into breath\, body & being\n \n\nThis workshop is fully booked. You can contact me to add you on the waiting list\, in case of annulation.\n\nA new one scheduled! on 23 November\, in Gooik (in Dutch).\n\n \nIn the hustle of modern life\, we often overlook the profound wisdom that resides within our bodies\, choosing external distractions over internal awareness.\nBreathing\, sensing\, and moving are not just bodily functions; they are gateways to a deeper state of presence. In a world that constantly pulls us outward\, Bodyfulness invites you inward — to listen\, feel\, and reconnect.& being\n \n\nWhat is Bodyfulness?\nBodyfulness is a transformative practice rooted in the idea that our body is a reservoir of intelligence waiting to be tapped. Unlike mindfulness\, which often emphasizes awareness of thought\, bodyfulness centers the body itself — as a sensing\, breathing\, moving organism.\n \n\nFocus on breath & the diaphragm\nOne of the core focuses of this workshop is breath — specifically\, the diaphragmatic breath.\nMany of us breathe high in the chest\, shallow and disconnected from the belly. In this workshop\, we explore how to awaken and engage the diaphragm\, the primary breathing muscle\, and restore a deep\, natural breathing rhythm.\nDiaphragmatic breathing is one of the most direct ways to activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the part of your nervous system responsible for rest\, digestion\, and recovery. It slows the heart rate\, lowers cortisol\, and brings the body into a state of healing.\nWe’ll explore:\n\n\n \t\nBreath awareness and nervous system regulation\n\n \t\nTechniques to relax secondary breathing muscles (like shoulders and neck)\n\n \t\nThe link between fascia\, breath\, and emotional release\n\n\n \nSensing\nWe begin by tuning into the subtle language of sensation — the inner signals that guide us toward alignment. Tension\, ease\, temperature\, flow — all part of your body’s vocabulary.\nWe sense by slowing down\, bringing attention to specific body parts\, and noticing physical cues like warmth\, tightness\, tingling\, or movement. The more we learn to listen\, the more clearly the body speaks.\n \nMovement\nFrom gentle stretches to mindful walking and myofascial release\, we’ll move in ways that connect rather than exhaust. Movement becomes a dialogue — a way of restoring trust in the body.\n \nWorkshop highlights\n\n \t\nDiaphragmatic breathwork & nervous system reset Learn and experience how to breathe deeply and freely again — to downshift your system and reclaim calm.\n\n \t\nSensory exploration Taste\, smell\, hear\, and feel your way back into the present through carefully guided exercises.\n\n \t\nMyofascial self-Massage Gentle techniques to release held tension and support freer breath and movement.\n\n \t\nYin yoga & embodied practices Ground the experience with long\, supported poses that work deep into connective tissue and stimulate vagal tone.\n\n\n \n\n \nWhat we’ll do (5-hour workshop)\n\n \t\nSomatic body-awareness practices\n\n \t\nGuided diaphragmatic breathing & breath regulation techniques\n\n \t\nMeditation with sound & silence\n\n \t\nMovement: walking\, stretching\, yin yoga\n\n \t\nSelf-touch & fascia release\n\n \t\nConscious eating & tasting exercises\n\n\n \nAbout me\nI’ve been an Ayurvedic therapist for over 22 years. I work with the body’s own rhythms and systems to find sustainable balance.\n As a certified yin yoga teacher\, I focus on fascia\, breath\, and deep release. I believe in food as medicine\, breath as healing\, and the body as a compass.\n \nDate and location\nSunday 12 October 2025 (11:00-16:00)\n\n \n\nThe course will take place at Timesmore\, a beautiful maison de maitre and co-working space. It is a hidden jewel close to Montgomery and offers three beautifully designed  spacious meeting rooms with a view into the garden.\n\nTimesmore\nBd Saint Michel 47\nBrussels\nMetro Montgoméry\n\n \n\nLanguage: English (but I can translate to Dutch/French)\n\n \nPrice\nEarly bird fee €119 incl VAT until 12 September 2025\n\n\nThereafter € 139 incl VAT\n\nincluded in the fee:\n\n \tthe teaching and guidance\n \tlunch including some healthy and delicious snacks to sense and taste (100% sugar\, gluten and dairy free)\n \ttea and tasty water throughout the day\n \ta set of more than 260 guided meditations\n\n \nRegistration \nVia Brussels Mindfulness\, by clicking on this link.\n\nCurious about Bodyfulness and how it relates to — or differs from — Mindfulness?
