SUMMARY:2-night Heartfulness and Wellbeing Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Canceled due to the Corona virus.\n\n \n\nA silent retreat (residential or non-residential) organised by Brussels Mindfulness\, for everyone who wishes to have more kindness and compassion in their life and to increase their wellbeing.\n\nIdeal for people who have done a mindfulness or a follow-up Mindfulness & Heartfulness course and want to refresh or deepen the meditations - and for everyone who would like to take a rest and connect to your own warm heart and inner peace.\n\nWith Steve Savels (mindfulness & heartfulness teacher) and myself.\n\n \n\nSince you were a child you may have learned that in order to be successful in life\, you need to be hard on yourself. We are taught that being self-critical is the best way to improve ourselves. And this attitude may have indeed brought you some success.\n\nBut\, at the same time\, we often also develop an inner harshness towards ourselves. Our inner critic becomes so strong over time that our achievements never seem to be good enough\, something always pushes us forward to the next goal. This can be exhausting. And it blocks us from enjoying our life.\n\nThe inner critic may even turn into an inner bully\, repeating the message over and over again that you are not good enough\, that there is something wrong with you. Which can have a paralysing effect\, keeping you from actually doing the things you would most like to do.\n\nThe practice of heartfulness - in addition to mindfulness - helps to develop an inner kindness to counterbalance the inner harshness.\n\nOne of the biggest misunderstandings is that this would make you soft or passive. The contrary proves to be true: kindness and compassion often provide a much more fertile ground that can allow you to be more active and do the things that truly matter to you.\n\nIn this retreat you will explore some specific heartfulness meditations\, together with other mindfulness practices. You will tap into your own sources of inner healing and your inherent abillity for mindfulness so that you can feel resourced afterwards.\n\nInstructions will be given in English.\n\n \nWhat to expect\n\n \tMindfulness & heartfulness meditations.\n \tMindful yoga.\n \tTeachings on how to cultivate kindness and compassion in your life.\n \tPractical exercises and sharing in small groups.\n \tA beautiful location in the countryside where you can unwind.\n \tTasty organic vegetarian food.\n \tThe power of a group of like-minded people willing to learn and practice together.\n \tA resourcing guided walk in the beautiful countryside.\n \tAn ayurvedic massage (optional)\n\nScientificilaly proven benefits of self-compassion\n\n \tReduced feeling of anxiety\, stress and rumination\n \tIncreased sense of self-worth and confidence\n \tGreater sense of wellbeing and calm\n \tIncreased happiness\n \tIncreased feeling of social connection\n \tImproved emotional resilience and decrease of risk for burnout\n \tAn improved ability for positive aging\n\n \nWhat you walk away with\n\n \tA set of mindfulness & heartfulness meditations for more kindness and compassion in your life.\n \tA renewed ability to connect to your own sources of deep joy\, love and calm.\n \tAn ability to grow resources within yourself helping you to become more resilient.\n \tNew ideas and inspiration on how to deepen your mindfulness and compassion practice.\n \tSome new friends who are interested in personal growth and compassion\n\nThe teacher\nSteve Savels is an experienced mindfulness teacher who has led many retreats and days of mindfulness.
